The Effectiveness of Combined Therapy Based on Acceptance and Commitment and Group Therapy Based on Hope Therapy Approach to Reduce Depression in Patients with Cancer in Yasuj

Abstract Background and Objectives: One of the chronic diseases that increases the risk of developing depression in a person is a variety of cancers. In several studies, the incidence of various cancers is an important risk factor for depression. The aim of this study was to determine the efficacy of combination therapy based on admission and commitment and group therapy based on a hope-based approach to reducing depression in patients with cancer in Yasuj. Materials and Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with two experimental and control groups. The statistical population of this study was 100 patients with cancer who were admitted to Yasuj Hospital in the 3rd month of 1396 and the first one of 1397 admitted to clinical trials. To be In a simple random sampling, 30 patients between the ages of 19 and 55 years were selected for chemotherapy in the center and divided into two groups of 15 subjects. In this study, there was no limited type of cancer, and the criteria for entering the study were as follows: Being alert, aged 19 to 55 years, the definite diagnosis of cancer with the approval of a specialist physician, at least once, treatment with chemotherapy and non-psychological problems, including depression Chronic pain before or after treatment with psychotropic drugs. To collect data and analyze it, Beck Depression Inventory and covariance analysis were used; Results: The findings of this study showed that combination therapy based on acceptance and commitment and group therapy based on the hope-based approach to reducing depression in patients with cancer in Yasuj is effective (P <0.05). Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, combination therapy based on acceptance and commitment and group therapy based on the hope-based approach reduce depression in patients with cancer and represents new horizons in clinical interventions and can be used as an interventional method.
